Gutok Indelible Ink

Several FB posts criticized Liberal Party senate bet Samira Gutoc after her post-voting photo showed the mark of the indelible ink was placed on her right thumb instead of her forefinger.

Comelec Resolution 10460 states the indelible ink must be applied on the voter’s right forefinger nail except in cases where the voter has no nail on his or her right forefinger.

According to Gutoc’s camp, the election officer on duty “put the indelible ink on her thumb, for reasons still unknown to us.” They added the error might have “ensued while the media was documenting” Gutoc’s vote but that they “cannot really say.”
