FB page on partylist false

In a list calling for zero votes, Facebook page “Crabbler” misidentifies and implicates party-lists, organizations, and party-lists not running for this elections as communist partylists.

Of the said list, only Bayan Muna, Kabataan, Gabriela Women’s Party, ACT Teachers, and Anakpawis Party-lists are certified by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to run this 2019 midterm elections. These incumbent party-lists form the Makabayan coalition which is also mentioned in the list.

Party-lists no longer running for this election are also implicated in the post. These are Migrante Party-list, Piston Partylist, Kalikasan Partylist, Courage Partylist, Katribu Partylist, and Partido ng Manggagawa.

Also included in the list are organizations and alliances that never ran for the elections, such as Anakbayan, League of Filipino Students (LFS), Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP), Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU), and Karapatan. Anakbayan and LFS are youth mass organizations, while KMP is a farmers' mass organization. KMU and Karapatan, on the other hand, are alliances of trade unions and human rights advocates, respectively.

While the posts did not provide any factual and substantial evidence regarding its claim, labeling of legitimate socio-civic groups as communists can threaten safety of its members, says Karapatan which have documented cases of alleged harassment and killings of activists and organization leaders in the country under the current administration.
